Abstract
Uterotubal junctions were carefully observed on the hysterosalpingograms of 400 cases. The morphological classification and results are obtained as follows:
A. Classification
1. Uterotubal junction without pretubal bulge.
Type I No constriction or filling defect.
Type II : Linear filling defect.
Type Ill Only suggestive constriction.
2. Uterotubal junction with pretubal bulge and constriction.
Type IV : Triangular shaped pretubal bulge.
Type V : Funnel shaped pretubal bulge.
Type VI :. Club shaped pretubal bulge.
Uterotubal junction with pretubal bulge and interruption. Type VII : Triangular shaped pretubal bulge. Type VII Funnel shaped pretubal bulge. Type IX : Club shaped pretubal bulge.
Type I was observed in 173 cases (43.5%), the most frequent type, and Type VIII in 61 cases (15.3%), Type I I in 51 cases (12.8%), Type VI in 49 case (12.3%), Type V in 32 cases (8k%), Type VII in 32 cases (8.0%), Type III in 26 cases (6.5%), Type IX in 24 cases (6.0%), Type IV in 19 cases (4.8%) in decreasing number.
C. There was no significancy in distribution and combination of the types except for the fact that bilateral combination is more often than unilateral distribution.
